Xynthia Rivera, Doctoral Trainee

Xynthia Rivera is a fourth-year Clinical Psychology (PsyD) student at the JFK School of Psychology at National University, currently training under the supervision of Dr. Isabel K'Burg. Passionate about supporting individuals and their families, she specializes in early intervention, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive therapy for underserved communities. With a background as a medical interpreter and Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), she has experience conducting neurodevelopmental assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder and providing school-based therapy for children. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in compassion, aiming to help clients build coping strategies, develop self-awareness, and create fulfilling lives. Born and raised in the Sacramento/Elk Grove area, Xynthia enjoys reading mysteries and thrillers, trying new coffee and matcha cafés, and going on hikes or peaceful walks with her new puppy.
