Sheila Linares, Doctoral Trainee
My name is Sheila Linares and I am a Doctoral Trainee in Clinical Psychology. I attend JFK School of Psychology and Social Sciences at National University. The foundation of my clinical work is rooted in cultural humility, empathy, and a biopsychosocial approach. I am passionate about supporting clients through challenges in relation to trauma, stress, anxiety, Latinx mental health, and integrative health.
In the therapeutic space, I strive to provide services that are tailored to each client’s individual needs in a warm and collaborative setting. I believe that a therapeutic alliance built on each individuals’ values and experiences is a recipe for growth and inner healing. My goal is to help clients understand themselves better as individuals, navigate through life’s stressors with effective coping skills, and work towards making positive changes in their everyday lives.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy making art, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy relaxing to guided Reiki meditations. I am curious in nature and am always open to learning more both in and out of the therapy room.
I am supervised by licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Regina K’Burg, PSY#34649.
