Jasneet Sanhu, Doctoral Trainee
My name is Jasneet Sandhu and I am pursuing a doctoral degree in psychology at the University of the Pacific in Stockton. I am currently under the supervision of Dr. K’Burg. My clinical interests center on culturally responsive care, with a focus on understanding how cultural identity, language, and social context shape mental health. I am especially passionate about supporting immigrant families and minority communities in navigating challenges related to anxiety, depression, and school-based stressors.
In my work, I strive to create a supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel understood and empowered. I believe therapy should honor each individual’s background and experiences, while also helping them develop practical tools to meet life’s challenges. My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and a belief that growth happens when clients feel safe and seen.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy traveling, spending time in nature, and exploring new vegetarian recipes. I also find joy in spending time with friends and family and volunteering for those in my community.
