Amari Washington, Doctoral Trainee

Hello, my name is Amari Washington. I am a second-year doctoral student in a clinical psychology program at Alliant International University. I received a master’s degree in Medical Health Science from Touro University California and a bachelor’s degree in African American studies from the University of California, Berkeley. As a clinician, under the supervision of John Joseph, LMFT #141034, it is important for me to provide a supportive, safe, and nonjudgemental space for clients to share and process their feelings and experiences. My goal is to utilize a holistic approach in order to walk with clients on their mental health journey. I find it deeply important to acknowledge the validity of each individual's experience and to be a source of support and encouragement throughout each client's personal journey. I am passionate about empowering each client to learn about the tools that will help them navigate the obstacles that they may face, and to work collaboratively with each client to explore ways in which clients can accomplish the goals that they have set in order to thrive in their journey. In addition to pursuing my passion, I enjoy traveling, watching mystery/ thriller movies, reading, and trying new, delicious food. I am looking forward to supporting you in your journey!
